March Was the Month Our Coffee Machine Finally Died
The complaints started in February. By early March, the email chain had grown to forty messages with subject lines like “coffee emergency” and “please fix the machine.”
The culprit was our twelve-year-old drip coffee maker. It had been on life support for months, but the end came when the heating plate started scorching the bottom of the carafe. You could taste it. I’m not saying every office should buy an Eletta Explore. To be fair, it’s feature-heavy, and if nobody in your office drinks cold brew, you’re paying for a function you won’t use. A simpler machine might serve a different team better. The point is that the question has changed. It’s no longer “how much does a commercial lease cost?” It’s “which consumer-grade machine fits our actual demand pattern?”
Would I make the same purchase again? Yes. But I’d buy the right water filter at the same time, set up maintenance before placing the order, and double-check every “standard” connection before installation day.
